Woodbury Thrives connects our community to inspire health and well-being for everyone
Woodbury Thrives, as part of the Woodbury Community Foundation, is canceling or postponing all in-person events, activities, and meetings for the foreseeable future. We are retooling our summer wellness challenge to help you continue to stay healthy and embrace wellness in a time that will be physically, emotionally, and socially difficult.
We strongly encourage you to socially distance, and keep all excursions outside your home to a minimum. If you can avoid being out in crowded public areas, you can reduce the risk of infecting others and being infected by others. Please limit your outings to what is critical. Many of our local grocery stores have dedicated hours for people at higher risk for COVID-19 - those over 65, those with underlying health concerns, and those who are pregnant.
It is safe to be outside for walks or bike rides - as you encounter others on our trails, ensure you keep at least 6 feet away. Many companies are offering free or low-cost streaming workouts for nearly every sport you can imagine, including our local YMCA. We also want you to pay close attention to your mental well-being - this is a challenging time for everyone, and we want to make sure you take time to take care of yourself. A walk, bath, book (download or curbside pickup at the library), online therapy, meditation, and many other things can help you. Take this time to reconnect with yourself and those you live with - or friends and family online.
As we go forward, we will be offering tips and tools to help you stay healthy as we enter what is unchartered territory for most of us.
In the meantime, we encourage you to follow the health guidelines given by the CDC, Minnesota Department of Health, and Washington County Public Health.
