It’s Complicated: The Relationship Between Children, Social Media and Mental Health

This presentation will explain how technology is changing the ways that children grow up, socialize and forge their identities using brain science, stories and humor. It will be held at the Oltman Middle School auditorium on Monday, April 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. 

Erin Walsh will begin with a presentation geared towards parents and community members that will give tools and strategies for how we can collectively help our kids navigate the online world and fully support their mental health needs.

 

Following Ms. Walsh’s presentation, District Administration will discuss the following:

  • How to report bullying;
  • How Administrators respond to reports; and,
  • Next steps as a school district in terms of mental health.

The evening will wrap up with time for questions from the audience.

 

Erin Walsh, M.A. is a dynamic, knowledgeable speaker who consults with schools, school districts, parent groups and other youth serving organizations throughout North America on issues related to digital media, children and youth.
