Woodbury Thrives connects our community to inspire health and well-being for everyone! We are a grassroots collaborative with 60+ regular volunteers and 90+ organizations involved in our development.
Health is more than a lab score or a doctor visit. About 80% of your health is determined outside the doctor’s office – from your physical environment to your education to your access to nutrition to your engagement in the community.
For our community to be healthy, we need everyone in our community to have access to the things that make us healthier.
Our three main areas of focus are:
Healthy Lifestyles – focusing on physical activity and healthier eating.
Mental Well-being – focusing on reducing the stigma of mental illness for youth.
Social Connectedness – ensuring residents feel connected to the community and to each other.
Woodbury Thrives first launched in 2016 with a series of conversations with community members. In 2017 we finalized our 3 areas of focus.
We are a community where business, government, non-profits, and individuals work together to foster good health for the entire community.
Every person in Woodbury should have access to the programs and services needed to support well-being.
Woodbury is a diverse, integrated, and thriving community.
Health and well-being are considered in all planning and program development in our community.
The health of those who live, work, and play in Woodbury is measurably among the best in the nation.
